Sarah Parry and Faye Wade are part of an interdisciplinary team leading the Scottish Research Alliance for Energy, Homes and Livelihoods.

This is a strategic network set up by the Scottish Funding Council to accelerate research activity in Scotland, and will run 2023-2027.

This ambitious new initiative seeks to forge connections and build the necessary cross-sector interdisciplinary research community that can help address the challenge of how households can become key agents in an equitable and inclusive transition to a net zero Scotland.

Along with being part of the leadership team, Sarah and Faye are co-leading the ‘Sustainable Households’ theme.

This theme will focus on opportunities and challenges to the delivery of a just transition at the household scale that is attuned to community-based expertise, intersectionality, digitalisation, and human-nature relations.

It will catalyse a cohesive network that amplifies Scotland’s existing strengths in the social sciences, arts, and humanities for informing research and policy agendas.
