Profile

Grace Garland is an environmental political theorist whose research explores different ways in which political phislopohy is responding to the joint biodiversity-and-climate crisis described by the IPBES-IPCC. She points to the limiting impact that disciplinary silos and a long history of human-centrism has on social theory's ability to respond to what is fundamentally a hybrid, more-than-human problem. She explores whether an ecological solidarity may emerge from the current crisis, particularly in the form of transformative ecological pedagogy.
