Nuria Lopez Vazquez's work - which is on soil care, home gardens, and monoculture - is narratively framed as a feminist political ecology of agriculture. Specifically, Nuria examines the interwoven realities of inequality, neocolonialism, and environmental pollution in the Shan mountains of Myanmar, and calls for agricultural development to transform into a food justice approach that could address Myanmar’s history of ethnic oppression and military power over the land. Nuria examines the potential for a politics of feminist soil care within the call for a regenerative future.
